Lauren McDonough, MSW, LCSW


Lauren is a licensed clinical social worker, who provides individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in working with individuals of all ages to address anxiety, OCD, body-focused repetitive disorders, and trauma. Lauren has received specialized training in the treatment of body-focused repetitive disorders, such as hairpulling, from the Trichotillomania Learning Center, as well as in the treatment of OCD, from the International OCD Foundation.

Lauren also has extensive experience working with children who have experienced significant trauma, particularly domestic violence. In addition to private practice, Lauren works as the child and adolescent therapist at a local domestic violence shelter, supporting children and families in their trauma recovery.

Before receiving her Master’s degree, Lauren spent several years working in clinical research settings studying the treatment of trichotillomania as well as other anxiety disorders.

Lauren’s practice is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment theory, Child Centered Play Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Integrative Play Therapy. She believes in tailoring a treatment to fit the unique needs of each individual and family. FULL CREDENTIALS
