Kristin Hayden is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in individual and family therapy. Her practice is dedicated to working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She utilizes a practical and client-centered approach, drawing on techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, family therapy, art therapy, and mindfulness. Her style is collaborative, warm, and down to earth. She often uses mind-body techniques to develop awareness and accelerate change. Kristin’s specialties include supporting clients who are struggling with socialization, depression, learning disabilities, anxiety, parenting and relational issues, self esteem, anger problems, attention deficit disorders and transitions. Kristin entered the field in 2004 and has worked in schools, foster care agencies and private practice settings. Her school social worker experience includes a DC public school setting and The Dominion School, which is a small, therapeutic day school, where she has worked for 8 years. Kristin believes in working collaboratively with parents and other members of the treatment team. From her experience working in special education, she is experienced in helping families navigate the IEP process and understand educational and psychological evaluations.
