Joanna is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in individual and family psychotherapy. Her practice focuses on strengthening the well-being of adolescents, adults and families. Joanna also has a special interest in working collaboratively with parents to help develop parenting strategies that meet the unique needs of children and adolescents and improve family relationships. Her approach is warm and compassionate. Joanna specializes in supporting clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, self-harm, suicidality, parenting and relationship problems. Joanna’s practice is informed by psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, neurobiology and trauma therapy.
In addition to private practice, Joanna has worked in a drug addiction clinic counseling people struggling with addiction, a college counseling center counseling young adults, and a foster care setting counseling children, adolescents and foster parents.
