Annie Mosimann, MA, Resident in Counseling

Annie is a licensed Resident in Counseling with clinical experience working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. Annie has addressed clients’ diverse needs in an array of professional environments including non-profit, school-counseling, and private-practice settings.

Her psychotherapy uses a humanistic and integrative approach, incorporating techniques from modalities including, but not limited to, Child-Centered Play; Cognitive Behavioral (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral (DBT); Emotionally Focused; and Expressive Arts therapies. Prior to obtaining her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Annie worked as an art teacher and has subsequently been able to effectively incorporate expressive art techniques into therapy. She has also worked as a School Counselor, supporting children at an elementary and middle school.

Annie presents with an empathic manner that is both warm and caring. She is passionate about helping children and adolescents reach their fullest potentials, while collaborating with parents. Her specialties include treating anxiety, depression, difficulties with self-esteem and socialization, relationships, and family conflict.

In addition to her practice at Weaver & Associates, Annie counsels at a private faith-based clinic. She is committed to continuing education and professional development, and she is currently completing the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) requirements for the state of Virginia.
