Angie is a graduate of the Catholic University of America’s Clinical Social Work program with a specialty of working with children and adolescents. Angie has over 10 years of therapeutic and social work experience. Angie’s practice is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment theory, Psychodynamic, and Bowenian Family Systems Therapy. Angie specializes in working with clients that experience anxiety, depression, self-harm, family dysregulation, rigidity, negative self-talk, and problematic interpersonal relationships. Angie also has experience in research and evaluation to ensure she provides evidence based psychotherapy.
Before her experience as a therapist at Weaver and Associates Angie was an elementary teacher. Angie then used her classroom skills in the Peace Corps to train South African teachers as well as opened four after school programs for orphans affected by the HIV pandemic. Angie has worked in a hospice setting providing family therapy and group therapy for grief, loss, preparation for end of life, and depression. Additionally Angie has worked with foster children and their families providing therapy for trauma, attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, and family dysfunction. FULL CREDENTIALS
