Allison Mitchell, LCSW


Allison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience providing group and individual therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in working with children and adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, family disruption, trauma, grief and loss. Allison is a seasoned clinician with command of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches to therapy.

Allison completed her Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Practice at The Catholic University of America. Prior to earning her graduate degree, she worked in the non-profit and government sectors serving adults with severe mental health concerns and co-occurring substance use disorders, with an emphasis in mental health crisis intervention. Allison’s postgraduate and clinical licensure work has been with children and families experiencing crisis, trauma, and family disruption. Allison’s advanced postgraduate and ongoing training is with the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement in Child-Centered Play Therapy and Filial Therapy.

Allison prides herself on collaborating effectively with parents, children, and their resources to develop a strong working relationship in order to produce best possible outcomes.
